9 Days / 8 Nights Remote Game Parks


We leave Dar es Salaam by train for the Selous Game Reserve, enjoying five days and four nights exploring different areas of the magnificent Selous Game Reserve. Based at Sable Mountain Lodge, two nights are also spent fly camping beside the Mgeta River for the Ultimate Safari Experience. Foot safaris, game drives and a boat safari on Lake Tagalala make this an unforgettable safari in one of Africa's last true wilderness areas. 

You then fly to Zanzibar to stay at the Zanzibar Serena Inn. The perfect end to the trip with a wide variety of water sports available including a fully equipped on site dive center, deep sea fishing boats and water-skiing, or alternatively just relax on the unspoilt white sand beach or by the fresh water swimming pool. 

From Zanzibar, it’s back to Dar Es Salaam by light aircraft. Upon your arrival in Dar Es Salaam you will be met our representative and transferred to the Holiday Inn where you have a day-room until your flight back home.


Day 1
Depart TAZARA station in Dar es Salaam for Kisaki, Selous. We will collect you from your accommodation in Dar Es Salaam where you will have spent the previous night. (Please advise us where you will be staying so that we can collect you!).

In the morning after your breakfast, you will be taken to TAZARA railway station to board your train. The train to Selous departs Mondays at10:00am, Tuesdays at 15:50, and Fridays at 15:50. The journey takes 5½ hours passing through rural villages until reaching the Selous Game Reserve. You will spend the night at Jimbiza lodge. 

Day 2
In the morning after your relaxed breakfast you will have a full day game drive with a picnic lunch (or alternatively return to the lodge for a hot lunch and short rest) and then continue to Lake Tagalala for a boat safari. Later in the afternoon you will return to Jimbiza lodge for dinner

Day 3
In the morning after breakfast you will have a game drive through the Kimara region of Selous heading to the camp by the Mgeta River. In the afternoon you will have a walking safari around the Mgeta River with an armed ranger. Later in the afternoon you will have hot shower, dinner and overnight at the Serena Mivumo River Lodge.

Day 4
In the morning after breakfast you will have a full day game drive in the Kinyanguru region of Selous with your picnic lunch and later in the afternoon return to the river lodge for hot shower and dinner.

Day 5
In the morning after breakfast you will have a walking safari and thereafter return to the camp for a hot lunch and short rest. In the afternoon you can opt for a game drive. You spend the night back at the luxury river lodge.

Relax at the lodge by the swimming pool or waterhole, enjoy a leisurely lunch before catching an afternoon flight to Zanzibar. Three nights are spent at the Zanzibar Serena Inn.

Day 7
Diving, fishing, snorkeling and other water sports are all available at the resort.

Day 8
In the morning after breakfast you will have a day of leisure at the resort. Zanzibar has lots to offer. You may decide take an optional spice tour or perhaps a dhow excursion.

Day 9
In the morning after a relaxed breakfast you will be transferred to Dar Es Salaam where you will have use of a day room at the Holiday Inn, Dar Es Salaam. Your tour guide will take you around Dar Es Salaam. In the afternoon you may opt for a hot lunch at a designated restaurant and in the evening you will be transferred to Dar Es Salaam International Airport for your flight back home.
