9 Days / 8 Nights Tanzania Camping Adventure



Spend your days on game drives exploring the most famous national parks in Africa. Lake Manyara is famous for its large flocks of flamingos and the tree climbing lions that live nearby. The Serengeti offers you great game viewing and depending on the time of year, you may also witness part of the great wildebeest migration.

At night, we’ll be camping under the stars. Enjoy delicious meals and sundowners beside the fire. Africa at its best


Day 1: Arusha
You will be met on arrival at the airport and transferred to Kibo Palace Hotel in Arusha for your first night

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park 
After breakfast, we drive to the Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its everlasting, lush landscape all year round. We arrive for lunch at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge spectacularly located overlooking the Great Rift Valley. We have an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara is the perfect place for bird lovers and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 or so different species in one day including thousands of pink flamingos, pelicans, cormorants and storks in and along the alkaline Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park offer numerous numbers of wildlife including lion, zebra, elephant, giraffe, baboon, hyena. Later in the afternoon you might have a hot shower, then dinner and overnight at the Kirurumu campsite.

Day 3: Lake Manyara Park and Serengeti National park
In the morning after breakfast we drive to the Serengeti National Park, famous for the great annual migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle on their way to the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. The endless plains and savannah vegetation support many species of wildlife including lion, african leopard, african elephant, cheetah, african buffalo, thomson's and grant's gazelle, topi, eland, water buck, hyena, baboon, impala and the rare African wild dog.
The park also boasts about 500 bird species, including ostrich, secretary bird, kori bustard, crowned crane, marabou stork, martial eagle, lovebirds and many species of vultures. 
Your tour guide will take you back late in the afternoon to your tent for a hot shower, dinner and overnight at the Kirurumu campsite.

Days 4 and 5: Serengeti National Park - two full days 
In the morning after breakfast you will meet your guide and collect your picnic lunch if you opted not to return for a hot lunch. Your game drive lasts until noon when you will have your lunch and rest. After a rest you will have an afternoon game drive and then drive back to the Seronera campsite for a hot shower, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park / Ngorongoro Conservation Area 
In the morning after breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch and enjoy game viewing en-route drive to Olduvai Gorge - a prehistoric site where the skull of 'zinjanthropus' the first upright man believed to have lived over 2 million years ago was found. Continue through the Ngorongoro rainforest to the crater enjoying the scenic ride full of animal sightings and picturesque views. We spend the night at Simba campsite.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater 
In the morning after breakfast we descend through the early morning mist into the crater, considered as one of the eight wonders of the world; home to the big 5: Black Rhino, African Capped buffalo, lion, leopard and elephant, all living in close proximity. There are some 25,000 large animals within the Ngorongoro crater itself, with zebra, gazelle, antelope and wildebeest abundantly present. You will also see some lion prides with the magnificent black-maned males. The Ngorongoro crater is noted as one of the few places in Africa that you can spot the black rhino and wild African dogs. In the late afternoon you will ascend the crater and be driven to your campsite.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater / Tarangire National Park 
In the morning after breakfast we drive to Tarangire National Park and have a game drive in the park. The game drive will take you to the most prominent parts of the Tarangire including the TarangireRiver which is home to numerous animals especially during the dry season. Tarangire is famous for its birds of paradise, baobab trees, tree climbing African pythons and herds of elephants. Other wildlife includes the rare Oryx, gazelle, zebra, impala, lion, leopard, the rare cheetah and wildebeest. In the late afternoon you will be driven back to Arusha to stay the night at Kibo Palace hotel.

Day 9: Arusha National Park. Departure 
After breakfast you will be met by your guide who will drive you 45 minutes to the Arusha National Park. In the Arusha National Park you can do all sorts of activities. These include; a walking safari accompanied with an armed ranger, a game drive within the national park, bird watching at Momella lakes and hiking up the lower slopes of Mount Meru.

The Arusha National Park boasts a variety of wildlife including capped African buffalos, elephants, hippos, giraffe, warthogs, antelopes, zebras, blue monkeys, velvet monkey, colobus monkey and variety of reptiles. At the Momella lakes you will see numerous birds including pink flamingos and pelicans. There are 450 species of birds have been recorded in the park.

The park is famous for being one of the few parks in Tanzania that allows walking safaris when escorted by an armed ranger. You will have time to take closer up pictures of animals like zebra, antelopes and African buffalo along with the many birds.
Later the same afternoon, we will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International airport for your flight back home.
