Day Trip - Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park Tour

Distance: 210 km from Moshi Town

After breakfast you are met by your tour guide, who will drive you to the Tarangire National Park taking along your picnic lunch. Tarangire derives its name from the Tarangire River which cuts accross the park and which provides permanent water for the wildlife and birdlife all year round. It is here where large groups of animal congregate during the dry season and is the best place to take many pictures.

The vegetation is predominantly Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. You may also see the tree climbing African pythons. Tarangire National Park is a birdwatchers paradise and more that 350 different species have been recorded todate. Other wildlife to be seen includes the rare Oryx, impala, giraffe, zebra, lion, leopard and different types of gazelles.

We will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park and do two exciting morning and afternoon game drives along the Tarangire River. Late afternoon we return to your hotel.
