After breakfast we collect you from your hotel and drive to Lake
Manyara National Park via the popular MtoWaMbu village which will
take us about 2 hours.
Your first view as you approach Lake Manyara Park is very spectacular,
regardless of direction. When you approach it from the east, the
Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon, forming an impressive
backdrop to the lake. If you come from the west and pause at the
top of the escarpment, the park lies in a green strip below you,
the lake glistering in the sunlight.
We take a morning game drive in Lake Manyara Park, then have a
picnic lunch in the park and a short rest before continuing with
another game drive in the afternoon.
Lake Manyara National Park is famous for its greenish vegetation
round the year and its acacia trees into which lions frequently
climb to acquire the shade.
The park's wildlife includes hippos, giraffe, zebra, buffalo,
antelope, impala and elephant. In the late afternoon we drive
to the Lake Manyara hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park to Serengeti National
In the morning after breakfast you will meet your guide for the
journey into the Serengeti National Park. The trip takes about
4 hours and we take a packed lunch. However we can spend more
time by passing via Olduvai Gorge if you wish. Thereafter we will
continue with the safari to the Serengeti National Park with game
drives en-route. The park is teaming with stunning wildlife and
it is thought that over 3 million large mammals roam the plains.
The extensive grasslands are interspersed with kopjes, which are
rocky outcrop islands in the flat plain, each with its own wildlife
communities. While in the park, expect to sight wild animals such
as lions, leopards, cheetah, African cape buffalo, elephants,
giraffes, waterbucks, herds of wildebeests, zebras and other gazelles.
The Serengeti is home to 350 different species of birds including
the famous secretary bird, marabou stork and sunbirds. In the
late afternoon you will be driven to the Serengeti Serena Lodge
where dinner is served and we spend the night here.
Day 3: Sunrise Adventure in Serengeti
Very early in the morning you will have a game drive in the Serengeti
National Park. The benefit of an early morning game drive is seeing
large amounts of wildlife and the chance to see predators hunting.
The game drive will take about 2 or 3 hours before driving back
to the campsite for breakfast and a short rest.
After a short rest we will continue with another game drive to
search for more wildlife. Your guide will be take you to see the
wildebeest and zebras migration if it is underway in the area.
Normally in April, the migration path moves west towards the Western
Corridor of the Serengeti. The long grass plains and woodlands
provide food. At that time of the year it becomes harder to track
the migration due to the heavy rains. In the afternoon you will
have time for your picnic lunch at picnic site follows with a
short rest. The game drive will continue up to late afternoon
and thereafter we head back to the Serengeti Serena Lodge for
